Looking at this picture makes me wish I could go back to such carefree days...

...when our biggest worries were Barbie and Ken's wedding, GI Joe's missing arm, and why we had to eat vegetables at dinner again.

My New Year's resolution was influenced by this picture, for 2011 I want to enjoy, relish and preserve every moment, hug, kiss and story that my kids will share with me. Time has already flown by so fast;Ethan is a mature boy on his way to being a teen and has a heart of gold. Piper has the confidence of a Queen and the nurturing instinct of a little mommy!

No amount of gold could ever compare, to the gift of love that my son shares.
I've been blind and I couldn't see that all the love I've wanted is right here in front of me.

Face Painting

The kids got their faces painted by a local lady that is awesome, it took her 4 minutes to paint the dragon on Ethan's face and about 3 minutes to paint "Piper's creation" she will be painting Pipers face up for Halloween and blacking out Ethan's. I can't wait!

"I can do it myself, I can walk in myself" says Piper to her Daddy on her first day of School...I think it broke his heart that his little girl was turning into such an independent little girl who wanted to prove her Bigness to him and all watching. Daddy gave his little girl a kiss good bye and she was off for her First day of Pre-School. Upon return Piper saw her Daddy ran up to him "Daddy, Daddy" and gave him a BIG hug.. Daddy's heart was FULL again!

The Kids had a busy weekend from Friday- finishing up school shopping, to Saturday - Family Reunion, A Birthday Party for our Goddaughter, & Fireworks, to Sunday - Hiking up and touring Timpanogos Caves, Picnics, 3 hours at Cabela's, Dinner at the Mayan (Ethan's choice), and hanging out the rest of the night with our good friends house, Finally finishing it all off with a non-stop fun-filled all day half night yup that's right Monday "where the fun is" LAGOON DAY" they forgot to mention in the commercials that it about an hour wait for all rides even kiddie land...oh well here's some pictures from the Hike.

I have a great love for the 4th of July, it's the day we show our love for our great Country and our admiration for our Soldier's who are so unselfish and never fail the good ol' USA those men and women allow us to be FREE and PROUD to wear our RED, WHITE, and BLUE. The fly over always gives me chills and when the flag passes in front of me I have tears in my eyes and my hand over my heart that is filled with pride and love for all of the men and women who are brave enough to serve for our country but most of all for the man standing by my side who I know has more HONOR for our flag who has sacrificed and fought with all his being so our children will be safe and never know WAR on this land. "E" and the Princess are so excited for the summer they gave us their list of all the fun stuff they want to do, here are just few of them: Lagoon, Swim Lessons and Swimming, Zoo, Camping, Timpanogos Caves, Sleep-Out in back yard with friends, trail ride in Sundance (that was a daddy inspired answer), Motor-Vu and of corse DISNEYLAND!

Dad and "e" had some good'ol father son bonding over a block of pine, sandpaper and carving knives.

The pinewood derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels and metal axles.

"e" raced his car (3) times...first race he got 2nd place...

second race he got 1st place...

Last race 2nd place again, They are already planning next years model...

Kata - is a Japanese word describing detailed patterns of movements practiced either solo or in pairs..."E" had his BIG test a couple of weeks ago and to his own hard work and dedication he had the courage to go up in front of three judges "solo" and display his skills in punches, kicks and Kata. All moves were called out by one of the judges in Japanese and "e" had to know exactly what kind of punch or kick they were wanting him to execute and he did to perfection...later he was presented his Orange Belt. Good Job Bud!

Ethan has been in Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai for almost a month, he has been doing great and enjoying every minute. He goes two times a week and on March 15Th is going up for his next belt (orange) he is so excited! Last week he met the Master Sensei from Japan, and was able to train with him for two days...What a great opportunity it was for him, he was in total awe at this mans abilities....

*tucked in - check
*hug and kiss from mom and dad - check
all of these are the same for both kids.....untill...we get to the princess then its a hug and kiss and "goodnight" to bear, to cat, to puppy, and to patch (other bear) and don't for a moment think you can forget or you will be reminded!

so in some ways boys are...hum... let's just say a bit less "demanding"
but we sure do love them both, and treasure that we BOTH get to always be there for there BEDTIME KISSES :)

FRIDAY NIGHT...DAD and SON...HOCKY...no GIRLS allowed!
the boys had a night out, the GRIZZLIES vs the ROADRUNNERS well the Grizzlies lost but the boys came home with two big grizzlie paws one (green) for "E" one (pink) for the princess both boys had tummy aches (junk food) something "mom" would have monitored a bit more than "dad" but a fun night all the same!

Blue and Gold Banquets....
Most Cub Scouts celebrate Scouting Anniversary Week with a celebration called the blue and gold banquet. In nearly all packs, the annual blue and gold banquet, which is often the pack meeting for February, is the highlight of the year. It brings families together for an evening of fun and inspiration.

The purpose of the blue and gold banquet is to celebrate the pack's anniversary, recognize pack leaders and other adults who have been instrumental in the pack's success, and inspire the leaders, Scouts, and parents. Packs often like to invite former members and other Scouting or community leaders to take part in the annual blue and gold banquet.

This little girl is our family puppy yes she is a 78 pound puppy and still growing:) Her name is Gypsy and it had just occurred to me that I have never introduced her to my blog, so here she is, she is the second best dog I have ever owned the first being "ZOEY" same breed tho (American bull dog) zoey was a snowy white - Gypsy is brindle... We just love her!

Well I have been trying to take some pictures of "little miss" for about the last month but with the holidays and all I just kept pushing it aside. So today was the day! The sun was shining outside and lighting up our front room just enough that I still could use natural light.

Some Ballet Terms...just for fun!

Jete : A jump from one foot to the other: a 'thrown' step, of which there are many varieties. A grand jete is a big thrown step.

Plie : Bending the legs: every ballet class starts with plies in all five positions to loosen muscles and promote elasticity. Good plie gives impetus for jumps and also helps to cushion a landing.
Arabesque : Position in which the dancer stands on one leg with the other extended behind. The arms may be in various positions but are always arranged to form a harmonious line.

A New Years Resolution? Lets see dare I say...OK fine I want to spend more quality time with my family ..I know silly coming from a stay at home mom, but I think having this time with my kids has been taken advantage of, I plan to make the best of ONE hour a week and play a board game with my kids and husband no phone...no TV ...NO INTERRUPTIONS. I also want to learn something new, my choice still is photography I want to take another class and become more comfortable with my camera, I want to have a date night once a month with my husband where we don't go out we stay home and make dinner together watch a movie in front of the fireplace, or go on a bike ride to the park for a picnic, I also of course want all the typical stuff too: get in better shape, get all finances in order, get more organized, sell our house buy a new one, make sure all friends and family members are happy and healthy, and be happy and healthy myself!

So here's to all of you....
Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right and remember the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Christmas was great the kids got everything they wanted and more, E wanted the wii and star wars and Baby girl wanted a baby that grows teeth and a nursery for her baby. The husband and I agreed we both wanted a new Treadmill. Our holiday activities kept us busy, busy from parties to shopping to the annual holiday movie, cookie frosting, and yes even Reindeer feeding...Ho ho ho hope everyone had a fun filled family cherished holiday...

"E" was baptized and confirmed a member of the church on Saturday December 6Th by non only than "uncle Allan" whom we think was sent here to be our "angel of light" because without him I truly think we would be lost in the shadows....I have never seen my son look so grown up until I saw him come up out of the water and smile like he has never smiled before...talk about a proud mama! We concluded our day by taking the kids to the Salt Lake Temple to admire the lights and peace that you feel just being on the grounds....

"E" has been working on his Cub Scout badges, he is absolutely loving it!
Last week he received his bobcat badge and recognition for outstanding "friendship". We are so proud of him! "Road king" has been helping him with all the tasks that he needs to learn as far as solutes,knot tying, and flag ceremony responsibilities.

These absolutely sweet pictures were taken by the earlier mentioned photographer (Anna Jones), She just was amazing...Now I know that you might think how hard can it be to get good pictures of these two considering that they are so darn cute (got the looks from there dad) and lets face it they are so well behaved **ha ha** (they act like there dad too) so let me just tell you for the two hours that Anna worked with them she was underpaid and may have went home for a glass of wine..not that she drinks but she may have started! Needless to say I'm very thankful in the end result.

Sorry I don't seem to be smart enough to get these any larger, this will have to do for now!

A Blessing….

The joy, the wonder, the sheer miracle of a blessing. A Precious little girl so vulnerable. So innocent. And brings such compassion of care into all our lives. This glorious celebration of the precious gift of a Blessing.

On Sunday we were able to have “sweetness” blessed. My uncle Alan who gave a beautiful blessing for our little girl, along with Burt and Bishop Lee. We are so thankful to have these loving people in our lives to guide us and show us the path in life that will one day lead us back to our Heavenly Father.

So… To Alan (my inspiration in all things) thank you for loving my family so much and always being there to show us the right way. We love you, Patti , Trevor and Haylee so very much. We are truly blessed to have you guys in our lives.
And…to Burt what can I say you are truly a person that is loved by all and that all should aspire to be like! Levi and I truly value yours and Phoebe’s kindness, guidance and friendship! Thank you for being such a good example in what we strive to be like…

We had one of the funnest family night last wednesday, Levi and I took the kids up to the Heber Valley Railroad and rode on "The Polar Express" the 90 minute ride included a chocolatechip cookie, hot coco and a visit from Santa at the North Pole.(just like the book) The kids were amazed...On the ride up we had a story-teller read us "The Polar Express" The story focuses on a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa Claus. Unwilling to believe this, he lies awake in his bed on Christmas Eve, waiting for the sound of Santa's sleigh. Instead, he hears the hissing steam and squeaking metal of the Polar Express as it stops outside his window, ready to take him and other children to the North Pole. I do reccomend this to anyone that just loves CHRISTMAS!
